Creating a Preload List for Jobsite or Processor Shipping
This article explains how to create and manage Preload Lists in ROMAC Production Control to group shipping items before creating delivery tickets.
What Is a Preload List?
A Preload List is a saved collection of shipping pieces intended to be loaded together for a jobsite delivery or transfer to an outside processor. It allows staging material before final shipment.
When to Use a Preload List
Use a preload list when:
- You want to pre-stage items for loading
- You’re building loads in multiple phases
- You need to track items going to galvanizers, painters, or subcontractors
Creating a Preload List
- Open the project
- Go to Tools > Preload List Manager
- Click New Preload List
- Enter a unique Preload ID or Name
- Add items using:
- Drawing and Piece Mark filters
- Manual selection from available shipping pieces
- Save the list
You can create multiple Preload Lists per job.
Editing and Managing Preload Lists
- Use Edit Preload to change items in the list
- Use Delete Preload to remove an unused list
- Use Copy Preload to duplicate a list as a starting point
Preload Lists are not actual shipments until assigned to a ticket.
Using Preloads in Shipping Tickets
Once a list is complete:
- Go to Shipping > Create Ticket
- Choose Use Preload List
- Select the list you created
- Complete the ticket details and print if needed
This helps ensure accurate loading and ticketing without missing items.
