Configuring System Settings
System-wide preferences control how ROMAC behaves across all jobs.
To access system settings:
- Go to Maintenance > Setup – Miscellaneous > System Settings
Key settings include:
- Tube Shape Preference: Choose whether tubular shapes display as TS or HSS
- Cut Tracking Behavior:
- Always On: Prevents double-counting material across cutting lists
- User Select: Prompts per project
- SBOM Save Value: Legacy field – leave as 0
- Default Data File Path: Set the default directory for FP_ job folders
Changes apply globally and are saved per workstation.

ROMAC allows material spec defaults to be set globally and per project.
To define global defaults:
- Go to Maintenance > Material Specifications > Edit Specifications Table
To define project-specific defaults:
- Open a job, then go to Edit > Job Title > Edit Default Specifications
These values will auto-populate the Spec field during SBOM entry, saving time and ensuring consistency.
Creating and Managing Tasks
Production tasks (Fit-Up, Paint, Inspection, etc.) can be predefined for use in task reporting and status tracking.
To define task headings:
- Go to Maintenance > Setup – Miscellaneous > Task Headings
- Enter up to 30 custom tasks
Each project can selectively enable tasks from this master list.
Customizing MSL Types
MSL (Master Shipping List) formats can be customized for different reporting scenarios.
To define MSL types:
- Go to Maintenance > Setup – Miscellaneous > MSL Types
- Create up to 3 unique MSL layouts with custom columns or field combinations
Use these formats for field inspections, quality control, or alternate client requirements.
